Her designs became classics and still feature in today’s fashion scene. The designer’s colourful ‘rags to riches’ life story has captivated the public for generations and remains a source of lasting inspiration. The Chanel Legend tells the fascinating story of Coco Chanel and her celebrated fashion house. The exhibition includes a range of top items, including original Chanel designs of the 1920s and ’30s, women’s suits of the 1960s and creations once worn by star clients like Marlene Dietrich, Romy Schneider and Her Majesty Queen Paola of Belgium.– Gemeente Museum
Vor schon etwas längerer Zeit besuchte ich in Den Haag die Chanel-Ausstellung. Die Ausstellung selbst fand ich jetzt nicht so überragend. Dennoch war es eine nette Abwechslung zum Email schreiben im Büro. Man sah von verschiedenen Jahrzehnten Cocos Arbeit und Entwicklung. Und ein Raum war sogar unserem geliebten Karli gewidmet. Zu guter Letzt durfte man sich selbst in einer Chanel Jacke fotografieren. Anders als eine andere Jacke fühlt es sich zwar nicht an, aber tun wir jetzt einfach mal so, als ob dies etwas Weltbewegendes wäre.

Chanel is a name most people know. To see Coco’s work from the early beginning until her death is really inspiring. The exhibition wasn’t the best, but I still liked it more than writing mails in the office. It was a nice little change.
